At SI2, our research has found that student success can be narrowed to seven elements. These elements are:
- Expectations
- Curriculum
- Instruction
- Assessment
- Extra Help/Time
- Student Guidance
- Learning Environment
As schools work through the February Root Cause Section of the Vision-to-Action Process, particular attention should be paid to your students’ Root Causes for slowed academic growth. Be sure and categorize each Root Cause discovered under one of the above listed Elements. It will help organize in preparation of the next step of researching potential Interventions.
For further clarification of each of the Elements, go to the Vision-to-Action Process and find the Root Causes section. The shareable document is linked there.
